Our Epic World Travel Plan – 2025/2026

We’ve packed our bags, ready to embark on this incredible retirement travel journey together. Our anchor locations are in place and we’ll fill in all the details along the way, turning every moment into a new discovery. We’ll stay flexible, adapt when necessary, and follow our heart’s desire.

Most importantly, we desire to enjoy the journey. Every step is an opportunity for growth, wonder, and unforgettable memories. Let’s go and make it extraordinary!

RV Travel Plan – ✔️ Check!

A map that shows our RV Retirement travel in the Pacific Northwest. It shows both the routes and camping locations.

We’ve been looking forward to this route now for a few years. Why? For starters we absolutely love driving through Idaho — the hiking, fishing, and just soaking up the great outdoors with gorgeous scenery everywhere you look. The people are awesome too. We’ve got old favorites and new spots to check out, with cool shops and local businesses all around.

After Idaho, we’re heading over to Washington for new exploration. We’ll spend two weeks going east to west along the northern border of Washington state, then a long overdue visit with our daughter in the Seattle area. Then, we’re off to explore the rainforests of Western Washington. From there, it’s a laid-back, go-with-the-flow journey back home to Northern Arizona.

All in all, this whole adventure will take about three months.

Cruise Travel Plan – ✔️ Check!

Two maps that show Cruise Planning and routes. One map has a cruise map in starting London, to Germany, to the Netherlands, to France and back to Germany

Six cruises and counting! Can you tell we’re obsessed with cruising? For us, it’s the perfect way to balance all the RV travel through a complete 180 degree shift in experience.

Lots of people ask us why we love cruising so much – honestly, the real answer is what don’t we love? I truly believe there’s something for everyone on a cruise. The cruise industry has two main goals: Make a profit and give you the best vacation experience possible so you choose them again and again. And honestly, they continue to win our vacation dollars!

We’re big fans of the ships – they’re engineering marvels built to WOW!!! you from the moment you step on board. Add in the food and dining experience, the shows and entertainment, the spa and gym, exciting and informative excursions at fantastic destinations, and a crew that remains motivated to give top-notch service – it’s all set up to give you an awesome experience. So again… what’s not to love?

Did I mention we’ve got six cruises lined up? They include bookings with Celebrity, Royal Caribbean, and MSC. We’re heading to the Caribbean, Europe, and because I’m married to the best cruise planner ever, I’m pretty sure we’ll find something in Asia in the latter part of our Epic retirement travel adventure.

International Travel Plan – ✔️ Check!

An image that shows a map of connected destinations around the world for our Retirement Travel starting in New York, to destination in Europe then the middle east, then southeast asia then the far east.

Did I mention I’m married to the best cruise planner on the face of this beautiful earth! Well, she doesn’t stop there. She’s equally fantastic at flight planning. Check out our Around the World flight (pictured above) she put together. There are two awesome features of this plan. First, it spans 4 months which gives us time to enjoy every aspect of the journey, including the human and cultural elements we’ll visit, as well as the natural wonders in the area of these locations. Second, it’s mostly business class and is fantastically inexpensive – because she is awesome.

This Around the World flight will bring us to more than a dozen countries, including four new destinations that we’re widely excited to visit.

New Dehli – many of my career friends and associates are from India (you guessed it – tech), and I really want to see the country that grounds their wonderful spirit.

Dubai and Abu Dabhi – These two cities in the UAB will present a wildly new experience for us. One that we know will benefit our mind, spirit, and expand our appreciation of diverse cultures.

New Zealand – We got so close last year on our sailing journey in the South Pacific, but the wind and timing just weren’t right. We’ll get there this time and are looking forward to the natural beauty only found in this far location of the globe.

Japan – We’re timing this visit for the famous cherry blossoms in the spring and I’m sure it will feel like an eternity before we arrive. We’ve heard so many good things about this amazing country with its blend of modern wonders and ancient traditions, and can’t wait to see and experience this first hand.
